In February 2010, the Australian Government made a number of changes in the regulations governing the Australian government's immigration program.
The aim of the change is that the previous regulations attracted more chefs and hairdressers to the country than engineers and doctors. You can also apply for the student visa by clicking at https://www.australiamigrate.com/

The Australian Immigration Authority wants to change this CSL (Critical Skills List) and replace it with a new SOL (Skilled Occupations List). The new SOL will take effect on July 1, 2010, and will be used to filter every Australian PR application.
The new SOL, which makes migration to Australia tighter, relies on a job classification system called ANZSCO (Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification Of Occupation) that replaces the previous ASCO (Australian Standard Classification Of Occupation). ANZSCO takes into account the current needs of the Australian Labor Market.
For Singaporeans who want to travel to Australia, some new procedures will affect the application of their Australian migration. Skills in English will be increasingly important in the process of applying for an Australian visa.
Migration to Australia will be more challenging for some skill sets because there will be a limit on the number of immigrants in certain jobs. This includes a special visa to Australia made before September 2007.
Visas for Australia will be more easily obtained for candidates with job offers than for applicants who only have good qualifications or those who are students.
